I attended Shawn's Low Back Pain seminar at Cobble Beach last weekend. I was worried eight hours of current research analysis might be a long day. Shawn has a fantastic presentation manner and his sense of humour made the time fly by. The information is very useful and extremely relevant to our profession. It was easily one of the best seminars I have attended in 30 some odd years. I would recommend it to anyone and I will attend Shawn's future courses.

You are a chiropractic leader with a strong vision and compassion for our profession. This seminar was excellent. I had the pleasure of attending Dr. Thistle's Low Back Pain Clinical Concepts & Research Updates seminar in Osoyoos this past weekend. As bland and boring as research can be, Dr. Thistle makes this a practical and entertaining lecture. I was able to put into place a lot of information he spoke of first thing Monday morning in clinic. I started to relate to what Dr. Thistle had shown us to my patients, was able to do a few small changes with the way I practiced and right away I noticed a difference. I would highly recommend anyone in practice take this seminar and see for yourself how applicable research can be to everyday practice.

The Epicurean Scholar is an excellent display of how continuing education should be presented. The day was the perfect blend of great atmosphere, up to date and RELEVANT research and good food. The best part of the day was how Dr. Thistle made the current research useful for the every day practitioner and applicable on Monday morning. Dr. Shawn Thistle has created two wonderful venues for chiropractors and physiotherapists to gain up to date information without having to do tedious database searching or analysis of the research being reported. He provides a 'Coles Notes' Research Review Service so even the busiest of practitioners can benefit. Recently I had the pleasure of taking a course with him through The Epicurean Scholar on current low back pain guidelines. It was one of the most enjoyable seminar experiences I have had in some time. Thank you for the jam-packed day of useful, current, clinical information on management of LBP. The information presented is useful starting Monday. I definitely will be altering management times of LBP in accordance with the research. As well, the options for effective treatment between conservative manual therapies and medical presented for LBP was clarifying and current. I feel more confident in my management of LBP with respect to evidence-based practice.

Dr. Thistle is a gifted presenter with a sense of humor. I have heard him speak when presenting on the highly respected Research Review Service he developed in 2006 and also on 'Hip Mobility for Spine Sparing'. However, I am sure he could choose any subject from his RRS literature and come up with an excellent and thought-provoking lecture. Above all, he never uses 'belief systems' to support his lectures. You can be sure that anything you are told in a lecture by Dr. Thistle has been thoroughly researched. He really makes us think about why we do what we do.

You gave a very informative presentation to the Waterloo Society. I really liked the way you presented the material in an organized, logical and humorous way. You engaged the audience, allowed for questions and feedback, and simplified certain areas of your topic so practitioners could utilize and apply the information the very next morning.....well done once again!

Dr. Thistle provides us with a crucial piece of the puzzle when it comes to providing effective patient care. I found his presentation to be extremely informative and immediately applicable in practice. Epicurean Scholar will play an important part in my ongoing continuing education.

Dr. Shawn Thistle presented a lively and informative 2 hour presentation on 'Cervical Treatment Update' to the Grey Bruce Chiropractic Society. He is obviously well-respected in the field, as we had a fantastic member turnout to hear him speak. Our Society is looking forward to hearing another presentation from Dr. Thistle in the future.
